Eggless Donuts


Preparation time: 1:20 mins

Total time: 1 hr 40 mins


- 2 cup all-purpose flour

- 1/4 cup warm milk

- 2 tsp yeast

- 3 tbsp sugar

- 1/2 cup water

- 11/2 tbsp salted butter

- A pinch of salt

- Oil for frying


In a small bowl take 1/4 cup warm milk then add sugar in it. Let the sugar dissolve well. Once the sugar is mixed well, add yeast into this mixture and mix it slightly. Keep this mixture aside for 15 minutes (make sure milk is not hot ).

Now in a separate big bowl take 2 cups of all-purpose flour and salt, and mix this properly. Now add yeast mixture into the flour. Start making the dough by adding 1/2 cup water (add little water at a time).

Take out this dough on a clean platform and start kneading with stretch and pull method about 15- 18 minutes until the dough becomes soft and supple.

After 15 minutes add butter and knead it again for 5 -10 minutes and keep it for proofing for 1-1.5 hours. After proofing, punch the dough and knead it for 1 minute.

Roll this dough into a slightly thick disc using a rolling pin. Now with the help of Donut cutter make Donuts. Apply some oil on the top of this Donuts, so that it doesn't dry.

Let this Donut rest for another 30 minutes.

Deep fry in medium hot oil till it becomes golden brown.

Pink Donut glaze:

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 2 tbs milk (we can adjust the consistency)

- 1 tsp vanilla essence

- 1 small drop pink food colour

- 1 tsp colourful sprinkles (optional)

In a medium bowl whisk together all of the ingredients. Whisk until it becomes silky and smooth. Now dip your Donut in the pink glaze.

Chocolate Donut glaze:

- 1 cup powdered sugar

- 2 tbs milk (we can adjust the consistency)

- 1 tsp vanilla essence

- 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 tsp silver balls (optional)

In a medium bowl whisk powdered sugar and cocoa powder. Slowly stir in milk and vanilla essence. Whisk until it becomes silk, and smooth. You can adjust the milk quantity as per your choice.
